Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising site.

Six months ago we were both pretty unfit and were somewhat surprised that a friend managed to coax us into entering the Great North Swim. We both, to be perfectly honest, entered with the words 'well I can always pull out nearer the time!' The time is getting near and we are both now totally committed to doing the race, which is a mile across Lake Windermere. Since we are unlikely to become regulars at this sort of thing it seems like a perfect opportunity to raise money for charity. We would be delighted if you were able to support us.

We have chosen to support Dyslexia Action as we have been dealing with them for the past year since our eldest child was diagnosed and have found a bunch of people who work tirelessly to help people affected by dyslexia.  Six million people in the UK are affected by dyslexia, that's 10% of the population. Dyslexia can affect all areas of your life, not just reading and writing. It can cause low self esteem, anxiety, frustration and even depression if unidentified.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you very much

Helen & Matthew
