Firstly I’d like to start with a quote, from my comedian of a brother, Nick:-
“Helen, why would you jump out of a perfectly good plane? Are you crazy?”
Yes, it’s in working order, and yes, I think I am crazy.
And the charity I’m crazy enough to do this for is Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington, Hampshire.
My Grandma stayed here while she received palliative care for Lymphoma cancer until she passed away in 2007.
The staff were absolutely amazing, they cared for her 24/7 and always had time to talk and make a fuss of her.
They were always so kind, caring and supportive and I wanted to make a donation so they will be able to continue their work and look after other people and their families through such difficult times.
I always make a donation when I list items on Ebay, which is what has led me to do the jump.
It’s a tandem jump, so at least there will be a professional who knows what to do while I PANIC!!!! :s
The jump is scheduled for Saturday 23rd January at and anyone is welcome to come along and show there support :)
I will be jumping 10,000ft (2 miles!!!) with a freefall of 5,000ft where I will reach 120mph!!!!
I need to raise a minimum of £400, so any donation at all will be greatly appreciated!!!
If you would like to know more about the charity or would be interested in doing a jump yourself then please visit the link of this page.
And finally, I am very, VERY, VERY SCARED!!!
So thank you to all for you messages of support (and yes I have heard about the recent Hollyoaks storyline – thank you!!)
Love to you all and lets make a difference!!
