As most of you are aware, I am about to embark on a life changing experience by volunteering to work for four months at the Kenya Children's Home in Nairobi.  I will have the opportunity to help out in all aspects of the Home and I consider myself very lucky to have the opportunity for such a rewarding and exciting experience.

A number of you expressed the wish to make a contribution to the Home and I have set up this Just Giving account to assist this.  Donations will be used to purchase practical items for the home like baby formula and maize flour or nappies and bibs.

The Home is supported by the Balcraig Foundation, but it also relies heavily on donations.  It is an independemt home for orphans, abandoned and destitute children that are cared for an deducated from birth to adulthood. Currently the Home houses 175 children, with siblings living together in nine family units to recreate a more family -orientated environment.
