Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and a big thank you to all who have already donated.
Well, the months of anticipation and preparation paid off I finished the London Marathon in 5:01:15, so am pretty pleased as I was aiming for five hours. I was quite knackered, as were the support team who chased around London all day, but there were no major injuries or embarassing sore spots. It was a great day, and for me a once in a lifetime experience! I will continue to run, but not on a schedule that rules my entire life - half marathons only from now on. Many thanks to The Cicely Foundation for giving me this opportunity and also for being there to cheer me on. There are so many worthy causes but Steve and Mauren Cliffen, Cicely Founders, are inspirational and work tirelessly as well as personally contributing significant amounts to the Foundation; I know that they put every penny to worthwhile use and every donation, large or small is appreciated. So I would ask you, one more time, to take a minute to look at your life and your children, count your blessings and consider those young people whose lives are not so fortunate as our own.
Feel good about yourself and donate a fiver this week and buy one less bottle of wine at the weekend. I can guarantee that 100% of your donation will be used to help deprived, vulnerable and needy children in both the United Kingdom and throughout the world to help overcome some of their difficulties. The main focus of the Foundation involves supporting work linked to education, health and well-being. Full details of the projects which are supported can be found at www.cicelyfoundation.com
Thank you so much everyone.
So please dig deep and donate now.
