I am raising money for a local charity in Sutton Coldfield called Breast Friends. They are a self help group which is run by unpaid volunteers. Their aim is to help local women with breast cancer through a difficult time by offering friendship, support and practical help.

As some of you may know my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer a few years ago. She joined Breast Friends after finding out about the group from Good Hope Hospital. They helped her through an extremely difficult time by providing her with help, support and friendship. She met people who were going through or had been through the same as her and this gave her hope to know she was not on her own. The monthly meetings at the hospital provide members with help and advice as local surgeons and doctors often come in to answer peoples concerns or worries. This group turned out to be invaluable for my mum who now is now a committee member and volunteers for the charity. Breast friends helped my mum in so many ways and I am so grateful to them and in doing this run, I can give a little back and show my appreciation for everything they have done for me and my family, and your money will contribute to an amazing cause that will help other people in need too.
