Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Neurocare is a charity that raises money to fund the Neurosciences department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. Because of this, they are able to buy very high tech equipment, which would not otherwise be provided by the NHS. Patients come from all over the country to be treated by specialist teams, patients who have suffered head injury, strokes or have cancers of the nervous system. As well as this, they also help those with brain tumours, diseases of the nervous system, Multiple Sclerosis, and much much more. It is 1 of only 2 Hospitals in Britain able to provide this.
.........The reason i'm running for Neurocare is because in April 2008 I had an operation to remove a Brain Tumour, and in January of 2009 went back to the Hallamshire for Stereotatic Radiosurgery; which is a form of Radiotherapy. Had the Tumour not been found and operated on I would have gone blind.
During my stay i could not fault a thing - I was very well looked after, reassured by staff, and even made to laugh - day and night! So I want to raise some money as a big thank you to the department and all it's staff. After all, if it wasn't for Neurocare funding the department my operation might never have been possible.
So please please please help me by digging deep and sponsoring me as little or as much as you can - it all adds up. And i guarantee to complete it - Carl is running with me to make sure of it! Thank you!!............
