Thank you for your kind and generous support of our house building activities in . We went forth and nailed and sweated and built 10 houses for 10 families - over 60 people now have somewhere dry and secure to live.
Its not a free handout for the families and they have to save $25 for their new homes from a meager income. It takes them over a year. The throbbing thumbs, blisters and new found aching muscles were more than worth it, when we handed over the houses at a formal presentation on the last day. We have to confess sun glasses were suddenly de rigueur to hide the emotional welling of tears.
Your fantastic support means that you have also funded 60 wells as part of the Wells for Life Program – the impact is phenomenal – you have directly helped change the lives of at least 600 people. One of the goals of the water well project is to increase the incomes of the families from an average of 60 cents per day to an average of $1.50 per day, through income generated by water supported income sources and through the decrease of illnesses.
