Laila is a 21 year old student from Bradford. She suffers from a condition called Thalassemia, which is a genetic blood defect. Her body is unable to produce enough red blood cells and sufficient hemoglobin. Every three weeks she is in hospital receiving blood transfusions.

"I am one of many Muslim patients in this country who are reliant on blood donors just to keep me alive. Sadly there are not enough Muslim donors, and the Imam Hussain (A) Blood Donation Campaign is one of the few initiatives which is challenging the community to fulfil its responsibility."

The Islamic Unity Society desperately needs your support to ensure that this year's campaign is a success. A small, one-off donation of £10 can make a huge difference in promoting the campaign at your local mosque this Muharram.
