We fund life changing research to change the future of spinal cord injury

Story

28th January 2008 was a glorious sunny winters day and I was fortunate to be doing something that I loved, playing football at Hannikins Farm. With only minutes of the game to go I lost my footing and had a group of players land on my head. Instantly I heard a crack in my neck and I collapsed on the floor not being able to move anything from my neck down...

Prior to this I was fairly unaware of spinal cord injuries, however over the next 9 months I found out everything that I wanted, needed and didn't want to know! The way that we react to the initial injury, the medical attention given, the rehabilitation and care afterwards has all been improved and is a far cry from the 1940's where you were made as comfortable as possible in your slow death.

Spinal Research are doing some amazing things and hopefully, through supporting them and giving them the funding to continue this research, one day they will find a cure or a way of reversing the effects of a spinal cord injury.

Please visit their website or speak to myself if you want to know more about my story or about spinal cord injuries in general.
