At the PRT, we are dedicated to supporting young scientists in their research efforts within the field of mental health, as there are numerous conditions and disorders that demand ongoing investigation. Understanding these is crucial for advancing treatment and expanding our current knowledge.

Story

Hi, my name is Iain Fish and I have completed a fundraising swim.

I swam the length of the Fal estuary from Malpas near Truro to Pendennis point at the mouth.  I't a distance of 8 miles which took me 3 hrs 25mins.  I did it with a healthy spring tide pushing me along; which some may say is cheating but i prefer to call it good watermanship!  It was hard enough work with a bit of chop in the open water to contend with and i am now chaffed and aching but have at least warmed up a bit. (I did it in me Speedo's)

Thanks to Heather, Richard, Tom and Alex for for their support in the boat, and also to my Dad for the loan of his boat.

I am raising money for 'What's Driving Parkinson's' through the Psychiatry Research Trust.  This is a charity that reserches into the cause or Parkinsons Disease.

I have been inspired to do this swim and to raise money for 'What's Driving Parkinsons' for two reasons: my Grandad had Parkinsons and I know a few other people who have it.  Also by my friend James Bowthorpe who is aiming to break the round the world cycling record.  Please take time to look at his website, www.globecycle.org and perhaps donate more money via his Just Giving page.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
