I am raising money to help Mary Stevens Hospice.

The hospice offers specialist palliative care for adults aged 17 years onwards who have a non-curative illness such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, end stage renal or cardiac disease, HIV / AIDS.

Mary Stevens have helped two members of my family in the last 6 years, and their support and care helped the last few weeks of their lives to become bearable.

Professional staff are on hand to spend time with patients addressing their individual nursing, medical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.

The team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and volunteers offers a full range of services including complementary therapies such as massage, hydrotherapy, hairdressing and manicure.

Regular day trips and special activities are very much part of everyday entertainment. Patients can choose from a shopping trip or a visit to places of interest, to handicrafts, art or board games. Or they can simply relax and read in their homely lounge.

Over 80% of their annual running costs are generated by donations from the local community. Without the continued support and generosity of the public, their doors would not remain open. Their running costs are £2.2million per year, so your support would be greatly appreciated. Anything that you could give would be a huge help to the hospice, and every penny helps!
