Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page raising funds for Fight for Sight by running in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon.
This will be my first London Marathon, and I am expecting it to be a tough one - certainly not a walk in the park!
Fight for sight is a charity that I have only just discovered, and one that is very close to my heart. They are experts in genetic eye disorder research.
Since 1965 Fight for Sight has raised funds to support medical research into a wide-range of eye conditions. These include macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy as well as the causes of childhood blindness. Fight for Sight also funds research into a large number of rare eye diseases. The charity is the largest in the UK dedicated to funding eye research.
Researchers that are funded are based at academic institutions and hospitals across the UK and may be conducting research either in the UK or overseas. Fight for Sight receives no government or statutory funding and is therefore dependent on voluntary donations. They actively raise money from a variety of sources including grant-making trusts and companies.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
