THE STORY AND REASON BEHIND IT ALL.

My mum was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Cancer) in 2009. After winning her battle the cancer returned in May 2011. There were many organisations who became involved with the family during her battle. The Maggies Centre were the only organisation who made a real difference. They kept my mum smiling, optimistic and empowered her through her journey. Sadly she Passed away January 18th of 2012.  For those of you who don't know about the organisation please watch the below video

I only ever seen my mum truly happy and ignorant to her situation when she knew she was going or had just come back from our local centre in Kirkcaldy. She met lots of people, friends and staff who were in her shoes and who she could really relate with her. They were like a second family and they carried out many confidence building cancer forgetting activities and that brought out the best in everyone such as makeover days to make patients feel better, writing classes to express them selves and many other things which were fulfilling to them all including my mum...Because of the Maggies centre my mum was a very happy cancer patient for a while until she could no longer attend physically and because nothing at that time had the ability to do this I want to raise as much as I can for them on behalf of her and myself as a thank you, so that these services and centres can keep making a difference in peoples lifes. The Maggies Centre logo states "people with cancer need places like these" and it is so very true! I will be donating 15% of all my LittleBox sales to continue bringing that happiness to other cancer patients.

Anyone of us at anytime of life may someday be relying on organisations like The Maggies Centre.
