Welcome to IRON SAPPER's Just Giving webpage!
We are six members of 35 Engineer Regiment (located in Paderborn, Germany) who have recently returned from operational tours of Iraq and Afghanistan and with your help, would like to raise as much money as possible for the Army Benevolent Fund.
The concept of our undertaking is pretty simple; we intend to run three marathons and cycle 1100miles in 14 days. Our adventure begins on 11 October 09 with the Chicago Marathon after which we will cycle approximately 550 miles to Toronto, Ontario over the space of six days before tackling the Toronto Marathon on 18 October 09. Our final leg sees us cycling another 550 miles from Toronto to Washington DC where we will take on our final hurdle, the Washington DC Marine Corps Marathon on 25 October 09.
Simple! In theory perhaps but I'm sure you will appreciate that this is no mean feat and will actually require considerable physical and mental endurance. However, the Army Benevolent Fund is an extremely worthy charity who support not only injured soldiers but also the families of those soldiers who are killed or injured on operations and consequently is a cause that is close to every soldier's heart.
Any amount that you are willing and able to donate would be greatly appreciated by us all.
Many thanks for your kind support,
The IRON SAPPER Team.
