My story

In May 2011, following uprisings in the Maghreb, protests broke out across Syria seeking change. The response has however been brutal and has led to a terrible situation for residents of the country

Allah's Messenger Salallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, ‘How blessed is Al-Sham.’ The Companions Radiallahu ‘anhum asked, ‘Why is that?’ The Messenger Salalahu ‘alaihi wasallam replied, ‘I see the Angels of Allah spreading their wings over Al-Sham.

- Musnad Ahmad, Jami al-Tirmidhi

Tens of thousands of Muslims have been killed. Thousands more are displaced or unaccounted for. The oppression being meted out is horrific. Even children are not being spared in the regime’s onslaught.

Ummah Welfare Trust is working inside the country, providing dry food rations to widowed and orphaned families. The charity is also working on the border with Jordan, providing relief to refugee families fleeing the oppression.

Ummah Welfare Trust urges its donors to give generously for our brothers and sisters in the blessed land of Sham. As Muslims, the current situation obligates us to respond.

£100 can provide a family with an emergency food pack that will last for many weeks inshaAllah.

One pack will contain:

• 10 kg Sugar
• 10 kg Rice
• 2.5 kg Red Lentils (Washed)
• 2.5 kg Red Lentils (Whole)
• 2.5 kg White Grams
• 2 kg Dry Milk
• Box of 100 Tea Bags

• 2.0 kg High Energy Biscuits
• 2.0 kg Salt
• 12 bars of Bath Soap
• 12 cakes of Washing Soap
• 2 kg Washing Powder
• 60 bags of Nappies
• 16 packs of Sanitary Towels
