The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

Much against my better judgement, I have volunteered to take part in this year's Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing. I will be one of seven celebrities (Ha! Ha!) paired with a professional dance partner, competing for the Glitter Ball Trophy at a Gala Dinner at Glasgow Hilton on Saturday 17 March 2012. My partner is Leanne who is a fabulous and impossibly energetic dancer. She is also a terrific and very patient teacher. We have been training since mid December and it is just possible that by mid March she might manage to get this elephant to dance. Leanne has a great sense of humour - and she needs it!

I have been associated with the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice (PPWH) for many years as an Ambassador and am now chairing their Project Board to enable them to build and relocate to a brand new £20 million Hospice. The hospice needs £2.8 million of donations each year to meet its operating costs and we of course need to raise the funding for the new hospice. I am confident we can do it but it is a big ask.

The people at PPWH are genuinely inspiring and I would like to help them as much as I can. But I need your help too. I know everyone gets bombarded with pleas for worthy causes. If though you can help in any way - big or small then I would be very grateful. (But big would be good!)

You can follow my progress through training at: http://youtu.be/SjCkmGLkiGQ

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks!

Jack Travolta Perry and Leanne Docherty
