Hello Everyone,
I am going for a walk. uphill. for a good cause.
During the first week of November, I'll be treking up Mount Kilimanjaro, in the aid of COCO - Comrades of Children Overseas.
COCO make a huge difference to the lives of children, particularly in poorer regions of the world, focusing on education and better healthcare. COCO was set up by Steve Cram, the Olympic athlete, and has to date, raised over £1.3m.
All donations will make a huge difference, and I really appreciate anything which you can afford.
Although I've done plenty of running races, triathlons, bikes and swimming events over the years, i've never done anything quite like this. It is something that i will find quite challenging (i've never been at altitude before ((despite being 6'5...)) and am already apprehensive of just what that entails, and i've never really been treking before, so it's going to be quite a personal challenge as well.
I know that we're in a time of belt-tightening and watching the pennies, which makes hitting this target that bit harder, but anything you can afford would be greatly appreciated, and will directly benefit children who aren't as fortunate as us.
As part of this trip, I will be visiting a couple of projects that COCO have out in Tanzania - so will be able to report back first hand to you all just how this money is being spent.
