Me and 2 of my oldest friends that I met at school (Matt Barraclough and Lee Cogger) have decided, against our better judgement, to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon for a very worthy cause, Treehouse. God help us! While Lee has managed to maintain a marathon-runner's physique, its fair to say that myself and Matt have not, making this particularly challenging/life-threatening for us.
We are being spurred on by my sister, Vicky, who is the Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Treehouse, a charity that campaigns for better education for autistic children.
TreeHouse was founded in 1997 by parents of children with autism and today they run a school for children and young people with autism. In addition to this, TreeHouse undertakes policy and parliamentary work and research to ensure autism is a national priority, supports parents to campaign locally and offers training and consultancy on autism education.
