Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am competing in the UK ironman triathlon 2009 and raising money for Cri Du Chat Syndrome Support Group www.criduchat.co.uk The charity is close to my heart as my son, George, has the condition. He is my first child with Ella and was diagnosed with Cri Du Chat shortly after birth. We were told that his development would be slow and he would have learning disabilities, but despite this he is a beautiful, happy and caring little boy who loves making friends and exploring the world!
The triathlon takes place on 2nd August in Bolton. It will be my 6th
Ironman UK and I've been doing a lot of training, with weekends given
over to long cycles across the country and pounding the London streets for what seems forever! The event starts at 6.30am with a 2.4 mile swim in a cold
lake, followed by 112 mile bike ride in the Pennines and finishing with a marathon run.
Phew! It's a long day, but George and Ella, along with
family and friends, will be there all day shouting their support!
Please make this day extra special for Ella, George and I by donating money through JustGiving. The money we raise will help the group to support families of sufferers, raise awareness of Cri Du Chat and fund further research projects into the condition.
Have a look at the photos and please dig deep and donate now!
