No parent expects to live longer than their child, but for many of the families we support, this is a reality. Julia's House, the Dorset & Wiltshire Children's Hospice charity provides frequent respite care for children and support for their families at home, in the community and at our hospice.

Story

Hello I am planning to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in February 2010 and all for what I believe is a good cause.

I want to raise money for Julia's House Childrens Hospice located in Dorset which is unique in helping the needs of many terminally ill children in the county. I recently visited the Corfe Mullen centre and saw first hand the tremendous work the charity does for many children and their families. Only 3% of the required funds are provided for by the state so that leaves a huge proportion of the £2.4 million operating costs still to be found.

Fund raising is obviously vital so please donate to help a worthy cause. Please give generously and inspire me to the top!

You can donate here on the web site with your card or come to The Fish Plaice in Swanage and pledge some money there. I'll be glad you did.

Thanks for everyone's support
