Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2014 has been the year that I got back into running after a gap of 15 years. I joined the Ealing Eagles Beginners group in January with a view to running 5k at Gunnersbury parkrun after 6 weeks, which I did with the fantastic encouragement and support of the coaches and fellow club runners. After that I went on to run various races including the Ealing Half Marathon and Grand Union Half Marathon.
Having completed these races, I looked for a new challenge - running a full marathon. I missed out on a place in the London Marathon via the ballot, but I realised that I still wanted to take part in this iconic race and that as well as the challenge of running a marathon itself, I wanted to make a difference by using the opportunity to raise money for charity at the same time.
Cafod is a charity that I have supported over many years, both through Church and through various fundraising activities at my children's schools. Cafod works in developing countries both in responding to provide relief in immediate crises such as Ebola and natural disasters but also on long term development projects, helping communities to grow stronger.
I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me to raise money to support the amazing work that Cafod does. I really appreciate your support - though it may sound like a cliché, every little really does help!
