Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
At the end of October I'm off to Northern India to participate in a 600 km bike ride in aid of Norwood. This will be the 15th year I've ridden for Norwood. You might wonder why I put my ageing body through the challenge year after year. I wonder too! I know it certainly doesn't get any easier!
The reason I'm back again for another week of pain, is the knowledge of the fabulous work Norwood does looking after the many thousands of less fortunate people who depend upon Norwood to help improve their quality of life.
Norwood have to raise millions of pounds each year to continue providing the services they do, and the bike rides are a key element of their fundraising strategy. Collectively the 140 of us doing this bike ride are hoping to raise an amazing £1m. fingers crossed!
In the many years I've ridden for Norwood I've been deeply touched by both the amazing people who work for the charity, and those who rely on it's support. One of the unique things about Norwood is the fact that each year there are 5 tandems on each bike ride. The guys on the back of the tandems all live in the homes managed by Norwood. Spending time getting to know them has provided me the motivation to keep going back, and to hassle you to put your hand in your pocket and help provide a contribution (large or small) towards their running costs.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Norwood gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please do what you can on behalf of the many thousands of people who rely on Norwood.
Thank you so much,
James
