Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in the Virgin London Marathon 2011 on 17/04/2011 to raise money for Neurocare and I'd really appreciate your support. I'm running the 26.2 mile race to raise funds and create awareness for Neurocare, because of the care and support they gave to a good friend of mine, Sally. Sally is the same age as me and has a brain tumour that can't be completely removed, thanks to Neurocare and the team at the Royal Hallamshire hospital she is much better.
Neurocare raises money for the Neurosciences Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, in Sheffield. They buy very high tech equipment – equipment which would not otherwise be provided by the NHS. As a result of Neurocare’s contributions over many years, they now have some of the best most advanced equipment in the UK but they still have lots of work to do. They have also lately invested in facilities for patients and carers, including improvements to waiting areas. Their ambition is to make it the best department – not just in terms of equipment but also facilities and support for patients, their families and carers. This is not just for people in Sheffield patients come from all over the country to be treated by specialist teams.
Neurocare help patients who have suffered head injury, strokes or have cancers of the nervous system. Neurocare also helps those with brain tumours, diseases of the nervous system, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Epilepsy and much much more.
Please take the time to visit the Neurocare website and read about the equipment and facilities they are currently funding and have previously funded.
