Land of Smiles is helping to support an orphanage in Thailand. Every penny raised goes directly to the orphanage and the team visit Thailand every year to take the money and help with work that needs doing. The orphanage was originally set up following the 2004 Tsunami and originally housed only orphans of the Tsunami. Nowadays it is home to children from different backgrounds who need lots of care and attention. The orphanage is housing more and more children and with no government support it needs constant help from the international community.
My colleague Emma Thirlwall and I (Jane Monks) will be climbing the highest free standing mountain in the world in November in order to raise money for the Land of Smiles. This will be no walk in the park but we are determined to rise to the challenge and conquer Mount Killimanjaro.
