So please dig deep and donate now.

I'm doing the Great North Swim - one mile in Lake Windemere - to raise money for the Encephalitis Society. My daughter Rebecca survived this rare and terrible disease. Funds are urgently needed for research and to give help and support to other families. All donations are gratefully received. Thank you!

I have now done the Swim - last Sunday! It was fantastic and I enjoyed every minute. The conditions were perfect - warm and sunny weather, calm and clear on the lake. Even the water wasn't too cold - the wetsuit helped. I managed a time of 47.13 minutes, not bad for breast stroke and taking time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Many, many thanks again to all you lovely people who have sponsored me both on and offline.
