I am back! An amazing pilgrimage this year. As I approached Santiago De Compostela I found more and more pilgrims on the route....walking or cycling or in one case leading two donkeys!!
People from every European Country...and others....sharing accommodation and experiences and communicating across language and cultural barriers. Wonderful to witness so much human kindness and to support my view that the majority of people are 'good'....or try to be!!
I cycled the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain from home in Winchester a total of 2,540+kms in 23 cycling days and average of around 110kms per day [just under 70 miles] I cycled across France joining the Vezelay route; then over the Pyrenees to follow the Camino Frances over 3 Spanish mountain ranges to Santiago....and then 'had' to 'go the extra mile' to Finisterre..another100+kms!....thought to be the end of the world in the Middle Ages!
