Dear Family and Friends,
Just to let you know I am preparing to take up the Challenge of a 2 Day Walking Trek along a specified route through the famous Bedouin Gardens in Egypt. We will be staying in a Bedouin Camp and our final destination will be the top of Mount Sinai - it is reported that God appeared to Moses in a burning bush many years ago.
We will be departing the UK on 5th November 2009 - wish me luck!
I will make sure to take plenty of plasters and comfy shoes!!
Livability is a very worthy charity and they do a lot of work to help children like David (in the picture) to do the simple things in life.
David is 12 years old and a student at Victoria Education Centre. David has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and uses a wheelchair most of the time. Like any other boy his age he eats, lives and breathes sport. Thanks to the work of Livability, David is able to take part in his favourite pastimes – football and swimming. He loves spending time in the special sensory swimming pool. Many of his muscles are in constant spasm and the specially warmed water can sometimes be the only thing that enables him to relax. David plays ‘ambulant’ football using a special walking frame, and is thrilled to finally be part of the sporty crowd - emulating the football skills of his favourite player, Frank Lampard!
