Hello everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I decided to run the London Marathon in April to raise money and awareness for a cause that it extremely personal to myself, in 2007 I was diagnosed with M.E; this is also known as Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

The main symptoms are severe fatigue, concentration and memory problems and muscle pain. This caused me to take a year out from my university studies. With the support of my friends and family I went back to university and completed my degree. I am extremely lucky to say that I feel as I get help and learn to manage this I feel much, much better, I might be a bit optimistic by saying I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But unfortunately many are not as lucky as I am, M.E. affects around 250,000 people in the uk and 25% become so severely affected that they are housebound or bedbound, so now that I feel I am on the path to recovery I feel it is extremely important to raise awareness and money to help those less fortunate than myself.

As extra support through the hard task, my dad ran with me, it was great to have the support throughout the race. We both had problems with our knees from 10 miles into the run, stepping the pace down and battling on we completed the course. It is the most amazing thing I have done in my life, the crowds support was incredible and in it meant everything to have my family and friends there supporting me throughout the whole thing, from the months of training right down to the big day.

I need to thank the Crown Hotel so much for kindly holding a Charity evening in support of Action for M.E. We raised an amazing £2000!
