So after saying "Yeah, sure I'l do a Marathon" (silly Me!) I am now being held to it. So training has commenced, Yippee But it is all for two very very good causes so why not.
The two charities being 'Action for the blind' and 'Macmillian Cancer support' who both do wonderful work and give great support.
A bit of the facts if you want to know....... (please take a minute of so to read)
'Macmillan Cancer Support' provide wonderful care and support for those individulas and families that are effected by cancer. Their main aim is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. They rely 100% from the giving of supporters to keep the charity running, and without this the charity would not be able to function and therefore provide services to those suffering with cancer. Macmillan can provide practical, medical, financial and emotional support. There are more than 200 different types of cancer with 1in 3 people developing cancer throughout their lifetime. I Have known a few people to have been affected by cancer and sadly to say not all of them were lucky enough to survive it. However Macmillan provided wonderful care and support throughout their time. Most recently we lost a young family memember on the 21 September this year, Macmillan showed him and his family great care and support and they will be forever grateful. So Macmillan provide much need support for cancer suffers and their families and without the proper support would not be able to do so.
'Action for the blind' is a national organisation which provides practical support for blind or partially sighted people. They give support to people to help with anything from, finding a job to housing issues, assistive technology to holiday breaks. This charity has allowed us to run in the london marathon and therefore raise money.
I know this is a difficult time for money issues at the moment for eveyone but if you could spare anything no matter how small it would be much appreciated and would be going to good causes. And just think thats all you have to do, donate some money without running the marathon!! I'll do that, count yourselves lucky (HAHA)
A BIG THANK YOU
