My story

Hello all,

In August 2012 I am planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the fourth most prominent mountain in the world (19,298 ft from the base), in order to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

I have chosen this charity because heart disease was the cause of death for both of my paternal grandparents and my surviving grandmother also suffers from heart problems.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in commissioning me to do some illustration/design work (I drew that owl/mountain poster over there) in exchange for a donation, please get in touch via:

E-mail: jasonedwardhowell@hotmail.co.uk

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/KilimanjarOwl
(Please "Like" this page in order to keep up with the progress of my campaign)

I'd also greatly appreciate any tweeting or Facebook/blog posting you can do to direct people towards this page.

In addition to sponsorship for the Kilimanjaro trek, I will be looking to participate in various other charity events and activities throughout the year in order to raise my target of £4000, so please feel free to suggest anything that may be of interest to me on this topic!

About The British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation focuses on three areas of cardiovascular health:

Investing in research - funding around 1,200 research projects investigating and pioneering treatment in every aspect of heart disease - from causes and safer drugs to improving surgical techniques.

Supporting and caring for heart patients - funding BHF Nurses who visit heart patients with all types of heart conditions in their homes. Providing defibrillators and echocardiograph machines for hospitals, emergency services and first-aiders.

Providing information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness.

For more information, please visit the BHF website at http://www.bhf.org.uk.

About JustGiving

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

All donations will go directly to the British Heart Foundation, so please help me achieve my goal and give generously!
