This year I will be riding several cycling events in the UK, and abroad, including the UCI Golden Bike "DragonRide" in South Wales and both stages of the World famous Etape du Tour in France. The aim is to ride at least 1000 miles in events during the year and raise £1000 for my chosen charities, 1 pound for every mile!


The two charities I've chosen are very dear to me for very different reasons. Cancer Research is a charity I've supported for many years following the death of my father in 2003 from Cancer. As 2013 will be the 10th anniversary it seemed fitting to raise money in his name this year.

My second charity is Progeria Family Circle UK a help and support group for children suffering from Progeria. If you've seen any of the Channel 5 Documentries about Hayley Okines then you'll be fuly aware that she is an amazing girl who suffers from this disease and her courage in the face of adversity is inspiring. She works tirelessly to raise funds to help other children with the disease and there are fewer than 80 children in the world who suffer with Progeria.
