Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. On October 24 I will be participating in a 10K run in in order to raise money for a very good cause. 10 kilometres might not be a lot – but it will surely be enough for me – considering I could only do about 3-4 kilometres a couple of months ago! So please do help me by making a small donation, all of which will go to Médecins du Monde – MDM (Doctors of the World UK), an international humanitarian aid organization I have been working with this summer. They currently have 185 projects in over 60 countries, helping provide medical care to vulnerable people affected by conflict, natural disasters, and war/conflict. Not only does MDM send volunteer doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to emergency and crisis programmes, but they also have two other types of projects;
· Post-emergency/crisis projects: helping restore access to healthcare, even for the most vulnerable and marginalized groups· Long-term, sustainable healthcare development projects, helping train local healthcare professionals in order to provide lasting solutions to the lack of access to healthcare
Want to have a look at some of the projects? Go to: http://www.mdmuk.org.uk/projectsoverseas/default.Asp
In addition, they also run a domestic project, Project:, helping some of our communiy’s most vulnerable groups access healthcare and get the care they are entitled to. See http://www.mdmuk.org.uk/projectlondon/default.Asp
