Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!
We are taking part in the Great North Run on the 20th September 2009 in aid of CLIMB (Children Living with Metabolic Diseases). CLIMB is the UK's only dedicated organisation providing both information and support to the families and sufferors of metabolic diseases and also funding associated educational and primary research .
CLIMB is a charity which is very close to our hearts as our little friend Rhys (who is starring in the attached photos!) was diagnosed with an extremely rare degenerative metabolic genetic disorder known as Leigh Syndrome at just 11 months old.
Rhys will be two the week after the Great North Run and although Leigh Syndrome is a life limiting disease that affects his mental and physical development, as you can see, his personality and cheeky smile are uncontrollable!
As some of you will know, a group of us also ran the Great Manchester Run in May for the same cause so if you sponsored us for that thank you so much and we hope that maybe you can find a few more pennies for this one!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and and help us to raise lots of money to help fund research into metabolic diseases and offer much needed support to families like Rhys'.
Thank you in advance!
Tom and Jen x
