I can say a big thank you to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to sponsor me!
To do an abseil was a really big ask, and I will admit that during the last few moments before beginning my descent I just wanted to be a million miles away - inside I was just screaming that I couldn't do this and I was trying to work out if I could just say NO! I'm off, can't do this, bye bye. I felt so sick, so nervous, so scared! If you come find me on Facebook you can see a video of me on a rope swing in the New Forest - you'll be amazed I ever did the abseil!!
But the instructor was fantastic - his voice was calm and gentle and encouraging, and he held eye contact with me as I leaned back and then began to step back ... and suddenly I was a few yards down the cliff face!
And it was fantastic! It was such an achievement for me to do something like this, and when I reached the bottom, amazingly quickly, all I wanted to do was get back up there and do it all over again! I felt invigourated, and so alive, so full of life.
Together with offline sponsorship I am well through my official target but I'd really like to hit £300 in total now, so all I need is just another £55 and I'll be there!
