In March 2020 my training was going brilliantly and I was all set to run my 5th London Marathon, my previous attempt was in 2017 (pictured with an incredibly impressed one year old Frank). Obviously that didn't happen but now, 18 months later and arguably less prepared, the time has come.

I'm running for Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust (FLEET). They  provide lifesaving equipment across Cornwall. Whether it's Public Access Defibrillators in old phone boxes in remote villages, or fully equipped Paramedic Motorcycles, their work is vital to helping save lives in a part of the country where emergency services aren't always a short journey away. I've seen first hand how crucial their work is and how it makes a huge difference. 

I met Norman (the King of FLEET) when I was out running on the Camel Trail in Cornwall, we were heading in the same direction so we ran together and as we ran and chatted he told me about the incredible work the charity does. Having spent a substantial amount of time living in Cornwall with my family while filming Doc Martin over the past ten years, I know just how vital additional life saving equipment can be when the emergency services have such a big area to cover. Sadly it's not like the TV show and you can't just get your local GP to run down the hill and help!
