As most of you are probably aware, my mum and myself will be running the London Marathon on the 25th April 2010. We thought it would be a good challenge and a great opportunity to raise some money for charity. We are both members of Saddleworth Runners Club, who every year nominate a charity to raise money for throughout the year. This year’s charity is Francis House Children's Hospice, based in Didsbury.
Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions. They also provide support and friendship for the whole family. All care is offered in a comfortable home from home environment. Families come for periods of rest and recuperation along with treatment of distressing symptoms, end of life care and support. Care is given free of charge and regardless of faith or cultural background.
