My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm planning to set off soon to cycle down through Europe from Amsterdam to as far as I get! I might get beyond Bordeaux or I might just collapse there and stay with my brothers who both live near. This is rather a self-indulgent execise of course but I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise some much needed cash for the work the International Refugee Trust is doing in Southern Sudan.

The Sisters of Mary are a Sudanese congregation who are working in various parts of the country to help the people get back on their feet again after 20 years of civil war which was fought across the south of the country.  Many people fled the area during the war and are now coming back to start their lives from scratch.  Yambio, one of the towns where the Sisters are working, is located in the far south and here they run a kindergarten, encourage income-generating schemes and offer advice and comfort to the people.  They are mentored by Sr. Josephine Tresoldi, a Comboni Missionary Sister.
