Thank you for your generous donation in memory of a kind Husband, loving Father, doting Grandpa and friend to us all

James Hull of Billericay Essex, Grandfather to Nicole, Britainy Jo and Chelsea Jo, father to Susan, Ian and Neil and husband to Patricia, passed peacefully away on the 25 Sept 2010 age 79. Jimmy lived a fantastic life, sadly leaving us through Lewes Bodies Disease. Many actions have shaped our Fathers life, but none more so than his dedication to family and service to his country.

RM7419 Sgt James E. Hull RM

A Royal to the end, Jim saw service in Malaysia, Aden, Singapore, Hong Kong,  Malta and Gibraltar. Whilst Serving on the cruiser  H.M.S. Ceylon, he saw action at sea and land during the war in Korea. A founding Patron of an orphanage aptly named “Ceylon’s Orphanage’ just north of Inchon. Located on ‘Ceylon Island’ after a bombardment and subsequent beach landing by the Royal Marines, they continually re supplied it with resources and medical aid throughout the campaign. The Orphanage is still there to this day.

In civilian life Jimmy used his skills of self discipline and ‘esprit de corps’ in fulfilling a very successful career in civil engineering. Continuing his enjoyment in sports, he sailed, kayaked, played field hockey and umpired up until the age of 75. He even took up skiing on his 70 birthday! achieving his first ‘Blue Run’ in Colorado.

He was the greatest dad a son could have and a wonderful husband of over 54 years.

Jim, a member of the Kings Squad,  a qualified gunnery and drill instructor has, and will always be, a Royal Marine in Mind, Body and Spirit.

My Dad taught me more than how to be a man, He taught me how to be a Father. What he achieved from life will echo in our eternity.

I love and miss you dad: Rest Peacefully. Nxo
