If we continuously try to control our lives it creates tension, fear and anxiety but if we are able to truly let go of the outcome we can then create space and miracles can happen! We all just need to surrender. Surrender is not about being weak, it is about becoming larger and more part of the whole. These practices can then help us to connect to a deeper, softer and gentle place in our hearts. Letting go can be very scary and painful but once we start to free ourselves we can then move on to create other realities that are more peaceful, joyful and fulfilling. No matter what the circumstances, if you can learn to love it, you can free yourself from it and move forward on your journey.
Jivamukti has chosen to support Action on Addiction as there are positive links between yoga and recovery. Yoga can be extremely beneficial to individuals in recovery, because of how it focuses on the positive aspects of mind, body & spirit, gives a structure to daily life and provides much needed inner peace and strength.
Addiction is the biggest preventable killer in the UK. Most people know someone who has been directly affected by addiction, or is a friend or loved one of someone with an addiction. Addiction can be devastating for individuals, families and communities. However, change is possible. People can and do recover.
Action on Addiction is the only UK charity working across the addiction field in research, prevention, treatment, professional education and family support. The money raised from this Benefit Class will allow Action on Addiction to continue providing practical advice and support to help people cope with the fear, confusion, guilt, uncertainty and exhaustion that are part of living with a drug, alcohol or other addiction problem. www.actionaddiction.org.uk
