Hi everybody....I'm back!!
This time I am raising money for a great hospice which has become very close to my heart over the last few months. After returning to Plymouth I started to do some volunteering for St Luke's Hospice and it has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
They are a superb hospice who provide services, free of charge to the local community. By doing these challenges and raising some pennies, we will be helping to care for over 2000 patients each year as well as helping support their families and loved ones during what can be a very difficult time.
Government funding covers less than 30% of St Luke's £5 million annual running costs, so they rely on £3.5 million in donations each year! So I thought I would take on some of the challenges they put on and do a little more to help support this amazing hospice.
My first event took place on 6th September in the South Hams.....me and mum did a 10 mile walk over land that can only be described as 'challenging'!! It was a great day and we did the walk in around 6 hours.....my second challenge is taking place this weekend at a quarry on Dartmoor and is called 'Triple Challenge'!!!
I have to climb 60ft up a rock face, abseil down again and then traverse across a gorge! eek!
Anyways it would be great if you can spare a few pennies for such a wonderful cause, every donation will have gift aid added to it also which is super!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
Love Jo :)
