I've naively agreed to damage my body for 24 hours straight on a rowing machine in order to help raise money for Help For Heroes and also for Cardiff University Rowing Club who are in desperate need of some new boats and equipment.

Whether or not you think we should be fighting in Afghanistan, the men and women who make up our Armed Forces are doing an incredibly brave job over there, risking life and limb. Since 2006, over 1000 British soldiers have been wounded in Afghanistan. Help For Heroes offers all kinds of support for these casualties who need our help now more than ever.

If you're interested in donating to either of these causes then feel free to turn up at the Union any time from Friday evening through to Saturday to see me sweating myself to (quite possibly) death on a rowing machine. Any donations welcome.

Massive thanks to everyone who has donated; you've all been incredibly generous! Thank you.
