Hello there friends, family, loved ones, pets and colleagues!,
As many of you know, I am Team Leader of the Allerton High School Expedition to Kenya in July 2011. I will be taking 19 young students from the school to Africa to participate in many life changing and challenging projects. Projects such as wildlife conservation, helping build better water catchment areas, making new desks for schools, de-licing the local animal stock, teaching the young children about the U.K. and our language & culture, planting new trees and vegetables and many other projects which aim to provide a long lasting benefit to the local community and wildlife. It is going to be a life changing 4 weeks for our students as well as myself, and in order to fund the cost of the expedition, we as a group are organising many events which I hope you will be able to sponsor me doing.
I have already completed the Dalesway Walk as part of our 1st fundraising activity and myself, Richard & Tina have been busy at weekends with car boot sales to boost our funds! October sees an Allerton High School Staff Talent competition where many of the staff will perform to students. In addition to this the group is bag packing at local supermarkets, making buns and cakes for all school evening events and there are many more planned events in the pipeline.
So far I have been overwhelmed by everybody's generosity and I cannot thank you enough. I go to Kenya during the October half term to do an inspection visit so when back the students can see exactly what they will be up to.
Again, many thanks for your donations so far. Keep them coming too!! John xx
