We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

By special request, I shall be dangled from a rope at a great height!

For one day only, my attention is on safely getting me down from a roof-top, the hard way.

I am abseiling down that iconic landmark Fort Dunlop, Birmingham, on Sunday 18th April 2010 in aid of Guide Dogs' Solihull Branch.  They celebrate their 40th anniversary this year and are aiming to raise 40k - the cost of breeding and training 8 new Guide Dog pups for the first 12 months of their lives.

Have I lost my marbles? Was I drunk at the time? I even suffer mild vertigo!

So why am I doing this? Because I value my sight, I've had contact with unsighted people, and this is one way for me to give something back. To help others, less fortunate. To demonstrate gratitude for my lifestyle.

Please Please Please help me surpass all expectations, by generously supporting my unprecedented walk on the wild side!

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
