Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you may remember that in September 2001 my son was born with some considerable problems (dislocated legs) and then later on, when he was around 7 yrs old was also unlucky enough to get a bone degenerative disease. Luckily private medical care and six months in a cast means Oliver has now turned full circle and has managed to score his first try at Twickenham playing for the Bank of England. Oliver can do many other sports such as cricket and cycling, (but cannot run that well); infact you would hardly know how wrong things went.
There are also others in the Blackrock Office who have similar histories and therefore we are trying to do our bit by cyling from Edinburgh to London. There are over 50 of us at Blackrock doing this for Whizz-Kidz.
There are many many others in society who are not nearly so lucky as Oliver to get the right medical attention and Whizz-Kidz does a great job trying to help them: so please could you help out by sponsoring me on this rather gruelling 470 mile slog.
Whizz-Kidz provides the right wheelchair at the right time to enable disabled children to live their lives like any other kid. They also provide support so these kids can use their wheelchairs safely and to the full, meet other young wheelchair users, make new friends and learn life skills in youth clubs, and provide work experience placements to give them aspirations and skills to do what they want with their future. Whizz-Kidz can transform the life of a disabled child.
The average wheelchair Whizz-Kidz provides costs around £2,400. Your support can make a tangible difference to the life of a disabled child. That is why my funding target is 2,400
