Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This October I’ll be taking part in the Great South Run in (yes, I know I’ve done it before but the London Marathon was full). As always I’m collecting in relation to the fight against Cancer and this year I’m raising money for St Kentigern’s Hospice in . Recently I experienced the work that the hospice does first hand - it was a humbling experience.
Every day, the staff at the hospice work with a smile on their face to ensure that those in their care are as comfortable and peaceful as possible. They do this despite the fact that patients can be in great pain, distress and discomfort. They provide support to friends and relatives during what is often a highly stressful and traumatic experience. How they stay so positive, so upbeat and so calm astounded me. Now I’d like to help. The hospice relies largely on money raised through donations to function. An incredibly small percentage comes from the government but alas, MP’s have multiple mortgages to pay and duck ponds to buy so can only provide a small amount. Thanks for reading.
