Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 16th August I shall be flying to Nairobi to spend the next week trekking to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro witrh my good friends the Webb's. This started as a personal challenge, however, in April Matt (my Godson) returned from a deployment to Afghanistan with 45 Commando Royal Marines which in turn prompted us to seek sponshorship for the trip and to raise money for a suitable service charity.
SSAFA Forces Help supports those who are or have served in the UK Armed Forces and their families. The charity has recently made an appeal on BBC Radio 4 where it highlighted the help being provided to Royal Marine Mark Ormrod who on Christmas Eve 2007 was seriously injured whilst on duty in Helmand Province. If you follow the link to the SAAFA website www.ssafa.org.uk you can read about and listen to the work of this charity which I hope you find, as I did, worthwhile!.
As they say ever little bit helps and any contribution you can make would be gratefully received and I look forward to boring you to death with tales of the mountain on my return
Thank you again
John
