For those of you who knew & loved John you will know how he always made himself available to help out anyone he could. A man who loved nothing more than to give to others in any which way he was able, John was always willing to lend a hand. Whether you were in a predicament or he was simply treating the grandkids, he loved to give a little and make someone happy. We have created this page so that John can go on helping others, he would love nothing more than to know that he was able to potentially make a difference to someone else's life.
Undoubtedly, 's Air Ambulance and its crew played a major part in the last chapter of John's life. For their efforts his family will be eternally grateful, as they were able to give him the expert medical care he desperately needed and to take him rapidly to the , the hospital best equipped to deal with his needs.
's Air Ambulance is partially funded by the NHS and charitable donations. Virgin pays half the leasing costs of the aircraft & guarantees the lease. The annual cost of providing the service is £2.25 million. The team consists of a qualified trauma doctor at very senior level, one paramedic, two pilots (one of whom acts as navigator) and an observer. The team is able to arrive at any point within the M25 in 12 minutes of takeoff from the helipad at the . The trauma team is on call seven days a week from 7am until sunset.
In order to keep 's Air Ambulance flying it needs to raise donations in excess of £1,000,000 pounds this year, and it would be nice if John could help a little towards their target.
