Story
On 27 October 2009, we are travelling from the UK to Tanzania to take on the challenge of climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. We will reach the summit on 2 November, all being well, and we hope to keep a video diary that we will share online. Originally we were going to do the climb for a sense of personal achievement but have realised we could benefit a wider group of people while taking on this challenge. We would appreciate your support through donations to the Meniere's Society. There is no target total set; we will be happy to raise even a small amount.
Meniere's is a disease of the ear and people who suffer tend to experience symptoms that can include bouts of vertigo, tinnitus and a feeling of fullness in the ear and usually progressive deafness. There is currently no cure for Meniere's disease and all that can be done is to best to manage the symptoms. It can be very debilitating causing emotional as well as physical issues.
The Meniere's Society was set up to help sufferers and promote awareness of the disease and to encourage research into management and cure. More information about the Meniere's Society can be found at http://www.menieres.co.uk/index.html
Thank you for your generous support.
