Story

Thank you very much for all the generous donations.

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page in memory of Jon Rasbash, in aid of the Bristol based charity the 'Rainbow Centre'.

The 'Rainbow Centre' is a very worthy local charity that provides support and counselling for bereaved children. Everyone who knew Jon will know that he was a devoted family man, who loved his family dearly. Please feel free to donate whatever you can afford, and leave a message for Jacky, Zoe and Molly to read.

Jon was Professor of Statistical Computing, a member of the Graduate School of Education and Director of the Centre for Multilevel Modelling. Jon arrived at Bristol from the London Institute of Education in 2004 to set up the Centre for Multilevel Modelling. The centre now has members, shared grants and research students with the School of Geographical Sciences and the School of Veterinary Sciences. Jon held numerous positions, including: Visiting Fellow/Professor, University of Toronto; Visiting Fellow/Professor, University of Rochester; and Special Advisor, University of Aberdeen.  Jon was the main architect and programmer for the MLwiN software package in Multilevel Analysis. The software is used by over 7,000 researchers around the world and is the analysis tool used in over 1500 ISI published papers.

Jon made an invaluable contribution to the Centre, School, Faculty and University.  He will be very much missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
