When we suggested a trip to Paris to Sara and Emma they were blown away by the uncharacteristic romantic gesture...until they realised that the journey started in Bexley not St Pancras , took 3 days not three hours, pushing a bike not pulling a wheel -a -long suitcase and without them.

It is one thing to cycle to our offices central London when the weather is fair, and it is another to return up the Archway road in the pouring rain,  but we sought a greater challenge . We wanted to feel how sore the  saddle  can really make you. We wanted to get up early and cycle between 85-100km a day. Roger wanted to see  the look on Jon's face as he found that there was another *@~#*!% hill coming up.

We are cycling from London to Paris in order to raise money for the Winnicott Foundation.

The Winnicott Foundation is a registered charity originally formed by parents whose children owe their lives to the Winnicott Baby Unit at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. In the forefront of specialist care for premature babies, the Winnicott Baby Unit treats over 300 sick and premature new born babies, most of whom would not survive without expert care. These babies are born not only at St Mary’s Hospital, but are also transferred from other hospitals without the facilities to care for them.

The Winnicott Foundation:

Purchases equipment such as hi-tech incubators, cots and ventilators.

Is providing cutting edge computer software that allows a baby’s medical history to be available at the touch of a button.

Provides hotel accommodation for families whose babies are critically ill and being cared for in the Winnicott Baby Unit.

Gives bursaries to staff to ensure their skills are up to date.

Purchases specialist clothes and bedding to help keep a tiny baby warm and comfortable
